Shawn Barnes

Shawn grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was introduced to the gospel through the bus ministry at the age of 10. After attending church for the first time, Shawn trusted Christ as his Savior on August 19, 2001. At 12 years old, during a Sunday evening service at his home church, Shawn fully surrendered his life to the Lord.

Shawn graduated from Three Rivers Baptist Academy and later pursued his calling to ministry by attending Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana. There, he majored in Missions and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2016. His time at Hyles-Anderson was foundational, not only in equipping him for ministry but also in shaping his passion for missions, discipleship, and the Word of God.

In 2016, following graduation, Shawn moved to Rio Rancho, New Mexico, where he began a new chapter in life, marrying his wife, Christie, on December 10. Together, they embraced the joys and challenges of ministry as they settled into their new home.

In 2019, God led Shawn and Christie to Merritt Island, Florida, where Shawn took on the role of Youth Pastor and Music Director. During his time there, Shawn developed a deep passion for expositional preaching, effective ministry processes, and building meaningful relationships within the church community.

His ministry is defined by a commitment to expository teaching, building strong foundations for spiritual growth, and fostering a heart for serving others.

Shawn and Christie are blessed with three children: Tinley, Quinn, and Oliver. Together, they enjoy family life, ministry, and the privilege of serving in God’s Kingdom.
